Excursion to Český Krumlov, Wachau and a trip around the world
Based on our achievements and placings during the 50th Geography Olympiad, together with Nina Macejova, we took part in the cognitive excursion organized by the Slovak GO Commission and the Faculty of Arts in Bratislava on November 16th and 17th, 2022. Our first stop was the Gate of the Heathens, the ruins of the Roman arch of Carnuntum Fortress in Austria. Afterwards we had the opportunity to admire the beauty of the Wachau, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It stretches along the Danube, with vineyards and orchards on the steep slopes. There are numerous castles, palaces, ruins and monasteries in the region's historic villages, of which we visited Melk Abbey in the town of the same name. This baroque monastery has been run by Benedictine monks since its founding in 1089. Here we find the famous monastery high school, the magnificent library, the marble hall and the monastery church with its magnificent frescoes, paintings and altar. From Austria we continued to the Czech Republic, where we had the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the UNESCO-protected town of Český Krumlov.

Excursion Bachledova dolina
On September 25, 2021, a selection of students from our school took part in an excursion to the Bachledova dolina valley, where we visited the canopy path. The trail is located on the Spišská Magura ridge, on the border between the Pieniny and Tatra National Parks. A cable car took us to its highest point, where a delightful walk between the treetops awaited us at a height of 24 meters. The hiking trail is 1,234 meters long and leads through a species-rich forest with many information boards. Perhaps the most beautiful experience was the spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. The visibility was very good, we could see all the way to Poland without any problems... The view from the panoramic terrace of the 32 meter high tower completely convinced us. The weather was kind to us and it was certainly a successful day on Saturday, where we were able to improve our reading and science skills.
Excursion to Lomnicky Peak
On September 15, 2021, an excursion to the Lomnicky peak in the High Tatras took place at GJAR as part of the project to promote reading, mathematics, financial and scientific skills. A selection of students visited the observatory at 2,633 m altitude, where scientists systematically observe the emission spectral lines of the solar corona. At the top of Lomnicky Peak there is also a neutron monitor for observing secondary cosmic rays and other instruments from the Department of Space Physics of the Institute of Experimental Physics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. The students also visited the Skalnaté Pleso Astronomical Observatory, located near Skalnaté Pleso at an altitude of 1,786 meters above sea level.

In addition to Slovak circulation coins, the company also produces coins and supplies them to many countries around the world. On the way we also got to know the geographical center of Europe, which is the Church of Saint John in Kremnické Bane.
Zádielska Valley
In beautiful autumn weather, the primary school class and part of the quartet class took part in a journey of discovery. We hiked on the nature trail in the Zádiel Gorge. We used the time to take a tour and study the information boards that accompanied us along the way. We learned the name of the river that flows through the gorge, what the stone seas are, what the fauna and flora in the area look like and what rocks the entire area is made of. It was an educational and joyful trip that we used not only to observe nature, but also to talk to each other.
