September
Opening of the School Year
On first day of school we all meet in PKO in Presov to celebrate an opening of the upcoming school year. We give a warm welcome to first-year students and our school band plays a couple of songs for a lively atmosphere.
Cognitive activities for first-year students
During first days a program School without hatred prepares cognitive activities for first-year students to get them know each other better. They spend their first lessons outside in school garden and then have a tour of the building.
European Day of Languages
Every year on 29th of September we celebrate European Day of Languages. During english lessons and other language lesson our teachers prepare different activities such as quizzes or games.
Oktober
Sock October
During whole month we collect socks for people in need. Anyone can buy new unused socks and place them to a box located in a hallway. At the end of the month the Presov charity collects socks from school and distributes them to people who need them.
Cultural diversity days
At the end of October we celebrate cultures of countries whose language we learn. On first day dress-code is colours of either German, French or Russian flags. Then we celebrate Halloween as American holiday and on last day we dress in typical folk costumes. During lessons we eat foreign food and play different games.
November
Charity Concert
Once in every two years we all gather in Theatre of Jonas Zaborsky in Presov for a charity concert. Some of us participate in the show that is played twice during one day. First performance is for students and the other one is for public. Money that is raised is then given to somebody who needs them.
International Student’s day
On 17th of November there is a national holiday dedicated to events that happened in 1989 known as a Velvet Revolution. A day before we do some activities for students to make their day better. Last year we did a challenge Turn off your mobile and talk!
